Immediate Life Support for Dentists and Dental Nurses

            Who Can Apply?

Certified by the Resuscitation Council (UK), this course has been tailored especially for dentists and dental nurses who require competency training in CPR, use of an AED and airway techniques. 

            Course Aims/Brief Outline

To enable candidates to reach an acceptable level of competence in the practical aspects of advanced resuscitation incorporating:

  • Prevention of cardiac arrest

  • An overview of basic life support

  • Airway management and simple ventilation techniques

  • Manual and/or advisory defibrillation

  • The universal algorithm

  • Use of drugs (optional)

  • Cardiac arrest simulation practice

            Assessment is undertaken by continual observation.    

Successful completion of the course gives a 12 month Resuscitation Council certificate which can be renewed via a yearly half day refresher course or repeating the whole course.
