The Resuscitation Training Department was established at Airedale in 1996 and has continued to expand and develop until it was incorporated into the Clinical Skills Centre in 2008 with a teaching/lecture room accommodating up to 20 people and a separate practical suite which can be used for individual or small group skills training.

The dedicated resuscitation training team comprises of Maureen Anderton, Resuscitation Officer and Mark Wagstaff, Resuscitation Trainer, complemented by other Clinical Educators and instructors for larger courses.

A variety of emergency skills are taught on site including CPR for adults and children, annual refreshers, airway management techniques, defibrillation and anaphylaxis, as well as being accredited to deliver externally approved courses such as ILS, ALS, ATLS, MOET.  It is also an approved training centre for the delivery of a range of HSE First Aid at Work courses.  Additionally the team have close contact with the local GPs and dentists to provide training tailored to their individual requirements on external sites and also regularly deliver training for community healthcare staff in the surrounding districts of Bradford, Lancashire, North and West Yorkshire.
